- ➤ At the TAPPS state cross country meet in Waco, Plano Coram Deo won the 4A girls title and Dallas Covenant earned the 4A boys title — McKinney Cornerstone Christian’s Nathaniel Lugo won the 3A boys individual title with a time of 16:23.66. Teams in other divisions also posted top finishes. The Dallas Morning News
- ➤ At its meeting, the UIL rejected proposals to add four new sports—pickleball, boys volleyball, lacrosse and ice hockey—and said it will keep studying the girls flag football proposal. It also approved a measure to bar foreign exchange students from varsity athletics and launched a two-year pilot to allow student coaches and optional water polo spring training.
