COMMUNITY NEWS

  • McKinney’s local government has announced a festive holiday lineup with a highlight on Home for the Holidays—A McKinney Christmas from November 28 to November 30 in downtown that will offer shopping, dining, live entertainment and activities. Additional family-friendly events, including craft fairs and Thanksgiving lunch, are scheduled in November and December to celebrate the season.  City of McKinney

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Texas Health and Human Services Commission said SNAP benefits for November will not be issued if the federal government shutdown continues past Oct 27—WIC, TANF, Medicaid, and CHIP remain unaffected while the commission monitors the situation. Updates about benefit issuance will be provided on the Your Texas Benefits website and via 2-1-1 as conditions develop.  FOX 4
