- ➤ A new Customs and Border Protection building opened at McKinney National Airport today to boost security and speed up processing for rising international travel—Airport Director Ken Carley said the facility’s private inspection area will help meet the increase from 127 arrivals in 2023 to a projected 180 by the end of 2025. - ➤ At a September 16 meeting, the McKinney City Council approved updates to the Unified Development Code to meet new state rules that limit the city's power over multifamily and single-family lot sizes. City Planning Manager Hayley Angel explained the adjustments (including new density limits, parking changes, and extended zoning notice periods under SB 840, SB 15, and HB 24) that align the code with state law.
