- ➤ McKinney officials announced today that the Lower 5 Plaza project is canceled after losing federal funds. The funds will be redirected to improve SH 5 and enhance pedestrian crossings on Virginia and Louisiana streets—efforts aimed at safer travel. McKinney Courier-Gazette
