GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • McKinney officials announced today that the Lower 5 Plaza project is canceled after losing federal funds. The funds will be redirected to improve SH 5 and enhance pedestrian crossings on Virginia and Louisiana streets—efforts aimed at safer travel.  McKinney Courier-Gazette

SPORTS NEWS

  • Byron Nelson in Trophy Club extended its winning streak to 62 matches with wins over Keller and Northwest Eaton—McKinney North improved to 3-0 by beating Anna 25-8, 25-4, 25-16, and Texas A&M pledge Gabi Rodriguez reached 2,500 career digs as the team kept its winning run alive.  The Dallas Morning News
