GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • North Texas business owners are reacting to a new Texas law that banned nicotine disposable vapes from China and THC-infused vapes, which took effect Monday. Carol Jones of CBD American Shaman in Frisco said her store lost revenue and faces further challenges if a total ban on THC products is implemented.  FOX 4
  • Tuesday, the McKinney city council approved a $942M budget and lowered its property tax rate from 41.6 to 41.2 cents per $100 as growing property values push tax bills higher—city staff will increase by nearly 60 and nearly $16M will go toward the airport fund. City Manager Paul Grimes said the plan strengthens services while planning for the city’s continued growth.  The Dallas Morning News
