Here's your local news at a glance for Thursday, the 19th of June.
Good morning, McKinney.
A citizen survey conducted earlier this year showed that McKinney residents rated city services, public safety and inclusive neighborhoods higher than national benchmarks—91% rated fire services and 89% rated police and emergency services as excellent or good.
City officials say these scores reflect the ongoing efforts by the City Council and staff to build a safe and vibrant community.
Church of God, a Worldwide Association is planning a $6.5 million expansion to its McKinney headquarters that will add a 12,000-square-foot auditorium and education center to meet growing educational needs.
Construction will begin in August and is expected to finish in spring—creating a new space for local congregations and special events.
McKinney will begin road work along Virginia and Eldorado the week of June 23; the project will last up to 18 months—weather permitting.
