Good morning, McKinney.

TxDOT will break ground on the first phase of the Spur 399/US 380 expansion project in Collin County to reduce congestion and improve travel options amid rapid growth — the project aims to ease traffic for local residents.

Local officials say the work will provide much-needed relief as the county continues to develop.

The City of McKinney celebrated the groundbreaking of the Sunset Ampitheatre — a planned 20,000-seat outdoor live music venue on 46 acres near U.S. 75 and S.H.121 — and the venue is set to open in the third quarter of 2026 as Texas’ first premium outdoor live music venue of its kind.
