- ➤ McKinney Community Development Corporation awarded two Retail Development Infrastructure Grants on April 4 to local projects at Cotton Mill and Samaritan Inn’s InnStyle Resale Shop to improve pedestrian access and site safety. The $23,745 grant at Cotton Mill will fund a new sidewalk with security lighting—while the $9,450 grant at the resale shop will support a wrought iron fence to enhance security and boost local economic growth. - ➤ Gas prices in North Texas have increased as the average cost for a gallon of regular gas rose from $2.81 to $3.04 due to the switch to summer blend that raises pump prices by 15—25 cents. Experts say tariffs are not behind the rise and expect prices to fluctuate until fall. FOX 4
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas reached an agreement on Friday night with Texas Health Resources and UT Southwestern to keep their hospitals, clinics and doctors in-network—this deal goes back to April 1 so that claims from then until April 4 will be changed to in-network rates. FOX 4
