COMMUNITY NEWS

  • McKinney announced that E.A. Randles Park and Aviator Park have reopened with new play equipment, a basketball court, and safe areas for children. Construction began on the McKinney Light Walk at Towne Lake Park, and it will feature a lit concrete trail that is set to finish by the end of the year — funding came from MCDC, parkland dedication funds, and city bonds.  City of McKinney

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Governor Greg Abbott warned developers behind EPIC City to cease construction until they file the required permits—he stated failure to comply would lead to legal action. A planning firm reported that only studies and land purchases have been made on the 400-acre site near Josephine, and no applications for building have been submitted.  FOX 4

HEALTH NEWS

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield ended coverage at dozens of North Texas hospitals on April 1 due to failed contract talks that left Texas Health Resources and UT Southwestern System patients without coverage—thousands now need to find new care or pay extra for scheduled appointments while negotiations continue.  FOX 4
