- ➤ A McKinney police K-9 lost its life in a shooting with an officer on Thursday during an investigation near the Red Roof Inn, according to the Texas Municipal Police Association — police have not yet confirmed the details. The Dallas Morning News
- ➤ McKinney police have cordoned off the Red Roof Inn along U.S. Highway 75 where SWAT officers and other units are stationed amid an ongoing investigation—residents are asked to avoid the area. FOX 4
- ➤ Authorities said an officer-involved shooting at a McKinney hotel on March 13 left a police K9 dead and the suspect fatally shot — the investigation is ongoing. McKinney Courier-Gazette
